About Us

"Believe in the me that believes in you."
Kamina, Gurren Lagann

As a child I was always obsessed with giant robots. Watching countless shows from Neon Genesis Evangelion to Full Metal Panic! to (most) Gundam series, if there was a mecha, I was there. There was something about the design of it all, the way a machine could look both brutal and beautiful at the same time, that stuck with me long after the shows ended.

Gunpla is where that fascination turned into something I could actually hold. The first time I snapped a kit together and realized I was building the thing I'd been watching on screen, I was hooked. It wasn't just assembly. It was therapy.

Along the way I went through a lot of tools. Cheap nippers that dulled after a handful of cuts, expensive ones that felt like overkill for what I actually needed, and a lot of trial and error in between. I work in logistics for my day job, so I'm used to looking closely at how things are made, sourced, and put together. At some point I started applying that same eye to my own hobby tools, and I realized most of what was out there was either priced way past what a hobbyist should have to pay, or built cheap enough that it wasn't worth the money either way.

So I decided to build my own.

I spent a long time researching materials and manufacturers, going back and forth with suppliers, testing samples, and rejecting a lot of options that didn't meet the standard I had in my head. Eventually I landed on a steel and a manufacturing partner I trusted, and the ERA-01 nipper came out of that process. Not flashy. Just built right.

The name Eraoso comes from "oso," a nickname I've had for years, Spanish for bear. Bears aren't flashy either. They're steady, deliberate, and built to last, and that's the standard I wanted for every tool that carries this name.

Eraoso is still small right now. It's me, a small first batch of nippers, and a lot of late nights figuring out packaging, sourcing, and everything else that goes into getting a product off the ground. But it comes from the same place all of this started. A genuine love for this hobby and the belief that the people who build things deserve tools that respect the time and care they put into their work.

Thanks for being here early, and for trusting a small shop with your build table.
